Northlands

I have announced at Northlands in Edmonton, Alberta for the past 12 years. Horse Events, Cattle Shows, Heavy Horse Pulls, Stock Dog Shows. M.C. openings and whatever they throw at me.  I've enjoyed announcing all the different events Northlands has offered me.

Amberlea Meadows:

I have announced off and on for a few years doing the Amberlea Hunter Jumper and Grand Prix Horse shows. This brought a new element to my resume - greater understanding of the different events in the Equestrian world. Announcing the English Shows has given me a great appreciation for all horse events.  Gerald and Helen helped me to understand the sport; I owe them a huge Thank-you.

Breed Shows

In addition to the breed horse shows (American Saddlebred, Morgan and Quarter Horses), I also announce the big hitch shows, horse pulls along with Super Team events around Alberta. My wife and I have been involved with the Heavy Horse and Super Team events for many years (having a team of draft horses ourselves) both competing and announcing. I have announced the finals at the end of the year at Lakedale. I also announced at Fort Edmonton Park during their Annual Fall Harvest - the Provincial Final Heavy Horse Pull.

4H

I have been involved with 4H on many levels, both as a leader (having my children involved in 4H) to announcing Focus on 4H.  What a privilege it is to watch our youth evolve into some of the most well rounded individuals.  Seeing them graduate, whether it is to the world of Equestrian or Rodeo or some of the best stock breeders around, is very rewarding.

Demolition Derby

Took a kick at announcing Demolition Derbies.  It still involves horse power but just a different kind.

Rodeos

Of course Rodeo announcing is also high on my priority list.
The excitement of the non-stop action from start to finish is contagious.  As an announcer, you get the audience involved by entertaining them and informing them of the events.  The audience pumped up and hooting and hollering is an adrenaline rush matched by nothing else.  Working with some of the best stock contractors and rodeo committees anywhere, matched up with the cowboys... how can that not be the best recipe for action!  The tempo doesn’t change when the ladies come out to turn the barrels, the excitement of getting the audience involved on every turn and then bringing the roof down when the ladies turn that last barrel towards home is exciting!  There is no place I would rather be than bringing that excitement of Rodeo to the fans.
